RED HORSE - CHILDREN'S BOOK

The Little Red Horse is a children’s book about the difficult subject of slavery.  Illustrated by sand paintings, an art form indigenous to cultures around the world, specifically those scattered across the African Diaspora, the story follows the adventure of the rebellious Little Red Horse making her escape across the Gobi Desert after the death of her father, Daily Bread.

Throughout history, humans have enslaved one another.  And as long as there has been bondage, there has been the struggle to break these chains.  Today, basic civil rights campaigns are still being fought throughout the world, on every continent, and will continue until all of us are free.  The civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr. wrote, “I have a dream that one day even … a desert state sweltering with the heat of injustice and oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.”
